Personal Assistant (3 hours per week – Thursdays)
I’m looking for a compassionate, grounded and practically minded Personal Assistant who enjoys being outdoors, exploring activities, and can offer practical support in my home.
About Me
I’m a woman in my early 30s, studying science part-time. I’m autistic and my mental health impacts my functioning. My energy levels can fluctuate. I enjoy being outdoors and getting around by bike, and I’m hoping to do more hiking, bouldering, and outdoor volunteering. I’m also planning to foster a cat in the future.
About the Role
The role is 3 consecutive hours per week on a Thursday, exact times to be determined collaboratively, ideally with some flexibility to allow for attending activities that are timetabled outside of my control. A mixture of at home and in the community support, agreed on in advance. Support may include:
• Working alongside me to manage my schedule and household tasks
• Helping with decision-making and task initiation when I’m feeling stuck
• Keeping me on task
• Supporting me to plan, pace activities, and build in recovery time
• Spending time together outdoors (cycling, volunteering)
• Supporting me to practice distress tolerance and emotional regulation strategies I have learned
Hours
• 3 hours per week on a Thursday between 9am and 3pm (ideally 11am-2pm)

About You
You are:
• Level-headed and discerning
• Patient and a flexible thinker - willing to problem solve and try new approaches
• A clear and straightforward communicator
• Someone with an understanding of autism and sensory sensitivities
• Interested in psychology and dedicated to learning about how to better your own wellbeing and that of others
• Compassionate towards yourself and others
• Somewhat active and enjoy being outdoors (interest in cycling is a bonus, not essential)
• Open to trying new things, such as bouldering or volunteering together
No formal care experience is required - the right attitude matters more.
You must be a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme, or willing to join.
If this sounds like you, I’d love to hear from you:
