Summary
Fun, energetic and caring Weekend and School Holidays Carer required for 16 year old boy with autism and learning disability (Southside).
We are looking for an energetic, reliable and caring individual to assist with our 16 year old son. He has autism and a learning disability and is non-verbal, but he’s very smiley and responsive to the right person.
We’re looking for someone who is free to work up to 8 hours per week over the weekend, eg on Friday evenings and/or weekend mornings or afternoons. We’re also looking for help during the school holidays.
Our son enjoys trips to the playground, the beach, the museum and the zoo, and he loves musical instruments. He has no awareness of road safety and needs close supervision at all times. He also requires assistance with his personal care needs.
The rate of pay is £17.50-20/hour, depending on experience and the position is available from February 2026.
Ideally we’d like someone with experience of working with a young person with a learning disability, and who is a PVG scheme member or willing to join the scheme. References will be required.
If you enjoy working with children and are reliable and fun, please send in your CV with a short covering letter. CV and covering letter should be emailed to pajobs@lothiancil.org.uk and remember to quote reference CW WN ED.
Many thanks!
