Nursery Practitioner, Newport, £15 per hour
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse to join our agency team, supporting a reputable nursery in the Newport area. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early years education and confident working within a busy, supportive nursery environment, utilising their knowledge of childcare practices and early years curriculum planning to deliver high-quality care and education.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, including planning and implementing engaging activities to promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth
Creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that fosters a sense of wonder and curiosity, while ensuring the health and safety of all children
Assisting with daily routines and activities, such as mealtimes, outdoor play, and rest periods, to maintain a smooth and efficient nursery operation
Communicating effectively with staff, children, and parents to build strong relationships and ensure seamless collaboration, using effective communication strategies and conflict resolution techniques
Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and child welfare, adhering to nursery policies and procedures, and reporting any concerns or incidents in a timely and professional manner
Required Skills & Experience
Level 3 Early Years qualification, such as a Diploma in Childcare and Education or a Certificate in Early Years Practice
Minimum 6 months UK-based early years experience, working in a nursery or similar setting, with a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and its application in practice
Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, including its principles, themes, and commitments, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting
