An exciting opportunity for a band 6 critical care nurse has arisen in Neuro ICU at BHRUT.
You will be part of a team caring for critically unwell patients across critical care units based at QH. Our critical care units consist of a total of 57 beds across two sites - Queens and King Georges and occasionally you will be required to work across site depending on service demands.
The Neuro ITU at Queens is a 12 bedded unit providing care for patient following neuro surgical interventions trauma and to emergency admissions from both the wards and a busy emergency department presenting with a range of conditions requiring level 2 and level 3 care.
We are looking for enthusiastic experienced critical care nurses with a passion for delivering high quality care in partnership with patients and their relatives, who can demonstrate an ability to lead others to work within these standards in a permanent role.
You must be able to act as a role model providing teaching and leadership support to the nursing team in the clinical area and work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to demonstrate high standards of individualised and evidenced based patient centred care and be responsible for supporting changes based upon local and national guidelines. Embedded into your care delivery will be the Trust PRIDE Values Passion, Responsibility, Innovation, Drive, and Empowerment.
To provide holistic nursing care to clients within the ITU/HDU, utilising all resources to provide excellence in practice.
To develop personally & professionally as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team and undertake appraisal annually.
To support all areas of critical care including cross site working.
To take charge of the shift regularly in the absence of a senior nurse.
To act as a role model to junior members of staff.
To provide bedside teaching and mentorship to junior colleagues.
To provide support to the senior nursing staff.
To contribute to the maintenance of a safe environment.
Reports any potential / actual problems to senior nurse.
Act as a link nurse when required.
You will be required to provide training and support to new staff members, guiding individuals that require performance related assistance.
