Freelance Site Engineer - Gatwick Airport

Location: Gatwick Airport
Contract Type: Freelance (CIS or LTD)
Rate: Up to £350 per day
Duration: Ongoing / Project-based

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support a complex construction project at Gatwick Airport. The works include new fuel main installations, EV charger installations, demolition works, and the construction of a new hangar. This is a hands-on freelance role within a live, safety-critical airport environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setting out for civil, structural, and building works

  • Managing and checking setting-out information using GPS/total station

  • Overseeing quality control and ensuring works are delivered to drawings and specifications

  • Supporting demolition works and enabling packages

  • Coordinating works related to fuel main infrastructure and EV charger installations

  • Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and design teams

  • Completing as-built records and site documentation

  • Ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and airport operational procedures

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer on civil/building projects

  • Experience with infrastructure, demolition, or aviation-related projects preferred

  • Strong setting-out and surveying skills

  • Ability to work accurately in a live operational environment

  • SMSTS or SSSTS desirable

  • CSCS card required

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Willingness to undergo airport security clearance
