About The Role

The Data Insights Manager is a pivotal hybrid role responsible for Hippo’s end-to-end knowledge management and commercial reporting strategy. Sitting within the Commercial Operations team, this role will support growth by ensuring that our Sales, Bids, and Operations teams have immediate access to high-quality, actionable data.

As Hippo moves toward an AI-driven environment, this role serves as the "Data Steward" for our internal intelligence. As the main point of contact to help others find the information they need efficiently, this role bridges the gap between traditional bid, proposal and report production and modern data analytics, ensuring our indexing tools and AI agents are kept up to date with structured, high-quality content to enable the business to run effectively and grow.

Accountabilities

- Data Quality & Mapping: Enforce quality rules for field inputs across systems to maintain ‘Gold’ quality document repositories.
- Reporting & Insights: Design, build, and maintain both structured and ad-hoc reports using Power BI and/or Snowflake Intelligence to pull insights from numeric and text-based Hippo data.
- Knowledge Retrieval: Drive operational efficiency by ensuring the right information is retrieved in the right format at the right time, encouraging self service among users.
- Continuous Improvement: Integrate "lessons learned" from bid scores and feedback into the knowledge library to improve future win rates and improvements to future submissions.
- Data Modelling: Add basic fields to existing data models to adapt to changing business requirements.

About the Candidate:

Skills & Knowledge

- Data Proficiency: Strong capability in Power BI (or similar) with an understanding of SQL, and Data Modeling.
- Commercial Methodology: Good knowledge of sales and bidding processes for B2B and UK Government procurements (e.g. Shipley, APMP).
- Technical Ecosystem: Working knowledge of cloud tools (i.e. Snowflake, GCP, dbt, Fivetran, Azure) and proficiency SaaS tools and systems (i.e. HubSpot, Kimble/Kantata, Google Workspace).
- Commercial Acumen: Understanding of a professional services business model, pricing structures, risk identification, and value-based selling.
- Communication: Excellent written skills with the ability to strictly enforce high standards and customer requirements.
- Logic & Creativity: Ability to think creatively about how to present insights and use existing data to solve business problems.

Experience:

- Required: Experience in report design and building data-driven dashboards.
- Required: Experience preparing data for AI indexing.
- Required: Experience working on bids or proposals for B2B/UK Government procurements.

Hippo locations
We are headquartered in Leeds and have offices across the UK in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Bristol. We're on the lookout for top talent nationwide but you need to be located within reasonable travelling distance from one of our offices which will be your contracted office location. Given the dynamic nature of a consulting business, you may be required to work on-site at a Hippo office or at an in/out of town client location for a number of days per week (client dependent) and therefore candidates will need to be open/flexible to travel. Plus, we offer a generous relocation support package of up to £8k (please ask for terms and conditions) to help make your move a smooth one.
