About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent position for a dedicated Physical Education professional. The successful candidate will be joining a high-energy department that views PE not just as a subject, but as a vital tool for building resilience, teamwork, and health. The role involves working with a diverse student body across Key Stages 3 and 4, managing both practical field sessions and theoretical classroom lessons.

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for PE.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

  • Communication: Clearly explaining complex rules or techniques.
  • Motivation: Encouraging students to push past their comfort zones.

  • Empathy: Understanding the challenges students face with body image or fitness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive PE lessons across a variety of sports.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Organise and lead extracurricular clubs and inter-school fixtures.
  • Manage and maintain sports equipment to ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Prepare students for BTEC or GCSE PE examinations.
  • Collaborate with the department to develop an innovative curriculum.
  • Attend parent's evenings and departmental meetings.
  • Foster a positive, disciplined atmosphere in the locker rooms and on the field.
  • Implement school-wide behaviour policies consistently.
  • Stay updated on the latest pedagogical trends in sports education.
