About you:
Are you a skilled and experienced dysphagia competent Speech and Language Therapist looking for a locum role?
We are looking for skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapists (SALT) to support the acute medical wards at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
In this role, you'll respond to acute adult referrals across a variety of medical and surgical wards, providing timely and effective SLT input.
Working under the guidance of an on‑site Band 7 SLT and the Deputy Head of SLT, you'll primarily focus on completing dysphagia assessments and delivering clear, evidence‑based recommendations. You will also support a smaller caseload of communication referrals as required.
Please note that this post is separate from our specialist Stroke Team, so you would not typically be involved in stroke referrals.
Essential Qualifications:
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist with:
- BSc or diploma in Speech and Language Therapy.
- HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Minimum 2 years' post-graduate experience.
- 6 months recent NHS experience within the last 3 years.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Experience in dysphagia
