About Discovery
Discovery exists to help each person we support to live a fulfilling life, to be equal in society and to be active in his or her local community. That's a big deal. It means being able to have choice and control in life. It means choosing to go out or to stay in, making friends and having relationships, finding and developing skills and interests. It also means managing a home, voting, staying healthy and being able to pursue employment or volunteering opportunities. If you think you can help the people we support get more from life, we want to hear from you.

At Discovery, you'll find more than a job - You'll find purpose, belonging, and the support to thrive. Your voice matters, your wellbeing is prioritised, and your growth is celebrated. Together, we make a real difference - for the people we support and for you.

Discovery is proud to be one of very few social care organisations that are accredited by the Great Places To Work programme in 2025 - now 5 years in a row!

About the role

Discovery supports 3 gentlemen and 6 ladies aged between 30 years old to 70 years old, with Learning Disabilities, to live as independently as possible in their own home, which is located a 20 minute walk away from central Yeovil.

There are many activities you will be getting involved in, so if you are looking for a bit of variety in your work life then this might just be the place for you.
The people who live in this house love to go swimming, going for a drink down the pub, visiting garden centres and petting farms, and going out for a nice spot of lunch. The ladies and gentlemen that we support get so much from our Support Workers, which makes for opportunities to form such amazing relationships and making the role a very rewarding one.

The people we support choose what they want to do with their day, part of your role as a Support Worker will be to promote and encourage this.

About you

"Today we went out for a nice walk, called at the local cafe for lunch, popped into the garden centre and ended the day catching up on the latest shows from the sofa!"
