Summary
Support Worker
Required to work with a 60-year-old gentleman living on his own in the Sherbourne area. Our client was involved in a road traffic accident in 2014 which resulted in an acquired brain injury.
Our client continues to experience cognitive difficulties because of his injuries-notably challenges with initiation, information processing, organisation and memory and requires 1;1 support to live safely at home. The role largely involves the delivery of domestic support, assistance to attend hydrotherapy and social & leisure outings, enabling him to be as independent as possible.
Our client has a keen interest in music and antiques restoration running a small antiques sales unit in Bridport. Support to attend this venue and work on restorations is often required.
Our client has two pet whippets which are friendly and require caring for during the day.
Previous experience, full driving licence are essential. Access to our clients vehicle will be available to support community access.
An NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in care is desirable.
Competent IT skills are desirable.
21 hours per week on a flexible basis to cover a 24/7 rota.
£12.21 per hour Weekdays
£13.94 Weekends
£13.94 Waking Nights weekday
£16.68 Waking Nights weekend
£11.04 Sleep weekday
£12.20 Sleep weekend
£25 per 12 hour on call shift
Bank Holidays – Double Time
This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.
You will also be required to register with the DBS Update Service.
