Crynodeb
The Customer Services Group is an important operational arm of the Home Office, responsible for delivering a wide range of public services that support the UK’s economy and cultural life. Our work spans the administration of passports, citizenship, civil registration, and visas, as well as managing asylum applications, support and accommodation, along with resettlement and returns.
This role leads the development and coordination of strong stakeholder relationships that support the Asylum and Resettlement directorates to work effectively with our partners. You will help to create a more joined‑up approach across the directorates so that engagement is clear, consistent, and responsive to the needs of communities and the people the government serves.
The Home Office works to build a safe, fair and prosperous UK. We achieve this through our work on counter-terrorism, policing, crime, drugs policy, immigration and passports.
This is a chance to shape a high‑profile area of work, influence positive change, and collaborate with partners across sectors. You will play a key role in improving outcomes for communities and asylum seekers while developing your expertise in engagement and strategic partnership working.
The Asylum and Resettlement External Relations (AER) function brings together national and regional teams to deliver a coordinated approach to engagement across the UK. Our regional clusters work closely with local partners, while the National Team leads engagement with political, cross‑government and national stakeholders and provides strategic support to the wider function.
AER is focused on building long‑term, evidence‑based relationships that help partners collaboratively develop effective accommodation and support solutions for people seeking asylum and for resettled refugees. By understanding the collective impact of different programmes, we aim to strengthen how we work with communities, public services, and organisations.
Joining AER offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide‑ranging and high‑profile programme of work that plays a vital role in how the asylum and resettlement system functions. You will influence how we engage with partners, support collaborative problem‑solving and ensure that our approach is consistent, transparent and aligned across teams. This role provides meaningful opportunities to develop your career in stakeholder engagement, partnership working and strategic communications.
