Summary
Job objectives and responsibilities
Main Job Function
The Security Operations Manager (SOM) has overall responsibility for the security operation in place at the Belfast City Airport and is therefore responsible for all the operational requirements of the security services in line with the clients aims and objectives, management, and customer expectations. The SOM is responsible for the strategic development of the security operation in line with best practice. This includes developing and implementing security polices, protocols and procedures as we as delivering specialist security training when required. The SOM will effectively manage a large Security team, including, Managers, Supervisors, officers and admin/office staff covering all aspects of welfare, performance, and Conduct.
Main duties
Operations
· Work closely with the Regional Management and account teams to help protect and manage both the client and Our company requirements & expectations.
· Compile statistic reports to demonstrate the effectiveness of the security department on a monthly basic.
· To actively manage the security department ensuring the entire team is aware of their roles and responsibilities and can deliver to the expected standards.
· To always ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations, such as GDPR, Health and Safety and in accordance with the Belfast City Airport own policies and procedures. · To act as a key contact for the client regarding operational security matters, effectively liaising with other departments, services within the Belfast City Airport to ensure effective communication of all matters pertaining to security and delivery of the professional security service, escalating issues appropriately. · To ensure that the security team are briefed on relevant security matters or any changes in procedures that have been made or are due to be implemented. · Whilst any initial incident management/response will be undertaken by the control room supervisor or duty manager, the security operations manager has overall responsibility and will manage and direct the security response at time of a critical incident at the Belfast City Airport. · Ensure appropriate training (derived from both internal & external courses) is delivered to team / individual staff in accordance with their grade or position of responsibility & identified training & development needs. Drive and develop the team in relation to Security Skills and local experience to help continual improvement.
