The PSO role within GM Community Integration offers an excellent career development opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with people on probation to support positive change, as part of the Greater Manchester Community Integration team. The role sits within a fast‑paced and continually evolving area of work, requiring close collaboration with key stakeholders at both regional and national levels. The successful candidate will work in a high‑volume, dynamic environment where change is constant. The ability to remain flexible, prioritise effectively, and respond confidently to competing demands will be essential. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to enable effective partnership working across complex multi‑agency settings. Candidates must also show a solid ability to assess and manage risk, undertake robust assessments, and maintain a high level of personal and professional resilience. We will be holding a merit list for this campaign should further opportunities arise within the next twelve months. Here is a snapshot of the different teams within Community Integration.

Greater Manchester Integrated Offender Management Team: is an area of national and ministerial interest, and our strong regional and national partnerships enable us to lead the way in delivering a high‑quality IOM model. Our commitment to consistent high performance and effective stakeholder engagement ensures we remain at the forefront of excellence within the sector. This is an exciting time to join us. Our IOM offer is expanding and evolving to align with legislative, policy, and operational developments across the system. You will be part of a forward‑thinking team shaping and enhancing a modernised approach to offender management across Greater Manchester

Greater Manchester Electronic Monitoring Team: is a high performing function to ensure effective monitoring compliance of EM solutions. The team supports Probation Delivery Units to provide risk management and public protection to those at risk of custody categories. EM sentences offer an alternative to custody and elements of rehabilitation via a variety of EM options. The GM EM team provides an interface with the external provider to communicate with key stakeholders which allows for timely enforcement to be delivered.

Greater Manchester Health and Justice Team: Health and Justice roles work across the GM region to develop integrated pathways and approaches for people on probation and in prison who need health and wellbeing support, with a focus on reducing health inequalities and strengthening continuity of care across all health and social care settings, including drug and alcohol services

Greater Manchester Commission, Contracts and Partnerships: Deliver a dynamic and varied programme of work, collaborating across national, regional, internal and external partners to co‑design, co‑commission and implement innovative services for people on probation. Working within robust governance frameworks, the teams ensure strong commercial, legal and financial compliance while maximising value for money and securing added value across the system to enhance support and outcomes for people on probation.

Greater Manchester Homeless Prevention Team (HPT) is part of a regional network of multi‑agency teams delivering the Ministry of Justice–funded Community Accommodation Service Tier 3 (CAS3), it also has a regional strategic and operational focus on improving accommodation outcomes for people on Probation; a committed, small and innovative Team.
