What skills and experience we're looking for
KCSP is seeking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated Assistant Headteacher from Easter 2026 (or September 2026 for the right candidate.)
St John’s is a four-form entry primary academy located in Gravesend, serving the Parish of St John the Evangelist and the local area.
St John’s is an inclusive academy. Its dedicated staff, helpers and governance committee members work hard to ensure that every student is supported and challenged to be their very best. Each individual is encouraged to grow spiritually and intellectually, so that unique and positive contributions can be made to society and the world. Its most recent denominational inspection in November 2022 judged it as ‘Good’ and its most recent Ofsted inspection in October 2023 judged the academy to be ‘Good’. St John’s are seeking to appoint a new Assistant Headteacher who will be committed to the vision of the school and who will help to further develop the excellent and exciting work and foundations that the academy has in place.
Reporting to the Co-Headteachers, the Assistant Headteacher will have a .5 teaching commitment and will be expected to lead a phase in areas of assessment, curriculum and other strategic roles to ensure that the leadership team strive together for children following the academy’s values.
The successful applicant will take a role in providing inspirational Catholic education based on our shared Gospel values. We are therefore seeking to appoint a practising Catholic to this role or an individual who will be in sympathy with the Catholic faith and so be able to clearly support our Catholic mission, the work of the academy and the Trust and that of the wider Catholic faith.
