About the Role
This is a key role within Pet Blood Bank UK, the Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the full finance function and working closely with the Managing Director to ensure strong financial governance, compliance, and accuracy. It is a hands‑on position suited to an experienced Finance Manager with proven experience managing multi‑disciplinary and remote teams, who enjoys ownership, structure, and contributing to a purpose‑driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a purpose-driven finance function
Overseeing all financial operations while empowering and developing your direct report to help drive life‑saving impact for animals across the UK - Inspire and support multidisciplinary teams
Including remote colleagues, fostering collaboration and a shared passion for making a meaningful difference in veterinary care.
- Deliver high‑quality financial insights
Through dynamic management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and proactive cashflow management that directly supports the charity's mission. - Champion strong governance and regulatory compliance
Ensuring the charity operates with integrity and trust as it continues to grow its vital services.
- Strengthen financial resilience
By maintaining robust controls, driving audit readiness, and managing risk frameworks while producing clear, timely monthly and quarterly performance reports.
- Payroll responsibility
For around 120 dedicated team members, ensuring accuracy and supporting the people who make this essential service possible. - Collaborate closely with key stakeholders
Across operations and customer service teams, helping to shape financial decision‑making that enhances the donor and client experience. - Build strong cross‑site relationships
Attending meetings at the Loughborough office and contributing positively to a supportive, mission‑driven culture.
What We're Looking For
- Finance Qualification or Equivalent Experience
Bring at least five years of financial experience, using your expertise to support a mission‑driven organisation.
- Proven Senior Finance Leadership
Demonstrate confident leadership across finance and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring strong performance and collaboration.
- Exceptional Financial Analysis & Reporting Skills
Use your strength in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to turn complex data into clear, strategic insight.
- Willingness to Travel
Be comfortable with regular travel, including occasional overnight stays, to support teams and build cross‑site relationships.
- Knowledge of Charity Finance (Advantageous)
An understanding of charity accounting, governance, and regulatory needs is beneficial, but not essential.
- Transferable Experience Welcome
