Job OverviewMitie is seeking a professional Security Officer to join the team at the Health and Safety Laboratory in Buxton. You'll play a key role in protecting people, property, and assets, ensuring all security duties are carried out safely, effectively, and in line with Assignment Instructions (AIs). This is a role where your vigilance and professionalism directly support a nationally important facility, with ongoing training to help you continue developing your skills.

Main DutiesOperations
-Deliver a high standard of security in full compliance with Mitie policies, industry regulations, and UK law.

-Carry out all site duties as detailed in the AIs, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.

-Stay updated on changes to procedures and offer suggestions for improvement.

-Hold a valid SIA frontline licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and obtain a CCTV PSS licence as required.

-Follow instructions and procedures methodically and safely.

Training & Development
-Complete all mandatory training and additional courses as directed.

-Use site technology confidently and maintain up-to-date SIA licences.

Security & Health and Safety
-Identify and report hazards or risks promptly.

-Stay alert to threats and respond appropriately to challenging situations.

-Maintain professional conduct at all times.

-Record incidents accurately and complete required reports.

-Carry out check calls and contact emergency services or the Communication Centre when needed.

-Previous security experience.

-Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision).

-SC Clearance desirable.

-Reliable, professional, and able to work rotating days/nights.
