Summary

We are looking for a commercially driven Marketing Director to lead the group-wide marketing strategy across a national portfolio of 20 racecourse and greyhound venues. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving attendance, revenue growth, customer engagement, and brand performance across all venues and products.

You will develop and deliver integrated, data-led marketing strategies that support key revenue streams including ticketing, hospitality, sponsorship, retail, and non-raceday events. Working closely with senior stakeholders, sales teams, and local venue marketeers, you will ensure marketing activity is clearly aligned to commercial outcomes.

The Marketing Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the group’s marketing strategy, with a clear focus on driving revenue growth and measurable return on investment. This role will provide strategic leadership across ticketing platforms, pricing and yield management, ensuring the business remains responsive to market dynamics and industry trends. Working at a national level, the Marketing Director will lead the development and delivery of integrated multi-channel marketing campaigns while maintaining full ownership of the group marketing budget and ensuring spend is effectively planned, tracked and optimised.

Equally important is the leadership of a high-performing central marketing team, alongside the oversight of in-house creative and design resources and the support of local racecourse marketing managers. The role will work in close collaboration with Group Sales to drive lead generation, customer acquisition and commercial performance, while building strong, credible relationships with senior internal stakeholders, agencies and external partners. We are looking for…

The successful candidate will be an experienced senior marketing leader with a strong commercial mindset and a proven ability to deliver results in fast-paced, event-led environments. They will bring significant leadership experience from live events, sport, leisure, entertainment or multi-site consumer venues, alongside a strong track record of shaping and delivering group or multi-brand marketing strategies. A deep understanding of ticketing, pricing and the customer lifecycle is essential, as is experience managing substantial, integrated marketing budgets with clear accountability for ROI.

The role requires strong CRM and data-led marketing capability, combined with the ability to lead, motivate and develop multi-disciplinary teams and manage agency and partner relationships effectively. Experience within sports, racing, betting, hospitality or other regulated leisure sectors would be advantageous.
