Summary
Urban Care Community is proud to deliver Skills Bootcamps and designed to support Londoners aged 19+ into rewarding careers in Health & Social Care.
This programme is ideal for individuals who are new to care, returning to work, or already employed and looking to upskill. Our training provides learners with the knowledge, practical skills, confidence, and employer connections needed to progress quickly into sustainable employment.
The programme is fully funded for eligible Londoners through the Greater London Authority (GLA) and co-funded for employers wishing to upskill their workforce. No previous experience is required.
Skills & Training You Will Gain
Core knowledge of Health & Social Care standards and regulations
Understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding principles
Introduction to complex and specialist care needs
Digital skills for modern care environments
Communication, professionalism, and workplace readiness
Risk awareness and safe working practices
Confidence working in domiciliary and residential care settings
Key Responsibilities & Programme Activities
Participate in up to 12 weeks of structured training
Engage in hybrid learning, combining online study with 256 hours of in-person training at our Ilford Centre
Take part in hands-on practical sessions and real-world care scenarios
Complete employability activities including CV writing and interview preparation
Attend drop-in sessions, workshops, and 1-to-1 learner support meetings
Work towards relevant certifications (including optional Level 2 Risk Assessment qualification)
Prepare for and attend a guaranteed job interview with employer partners
