An exciting opportunity has arisen for committed, enthusiastic and motivated person to join the Dementia and Delirium (DaD) Team at Barts Health NHS Trust.

We are seeking to recruit a Dementia and Delirium Support Worker who will work as part of a dedicated team alongside the Dementia Nurse/Therapist, Dementia Clinical Nurse Specialist and in partnership with Dementia Lead Nurse to support the delivery of the Trust Dementia Strategy.

The main purpose of the role is to help improve the care and experience of those living with dementia and/or delirium and their carers. The post holder will also support, implement and facilitate active therapeutic engagement with our patients in hospital whilst promoting independence.

The successful candidate willsupport people with dementia and/or delirium through therapeutic activities, stimulation and engagement along with supporting the team in delivery of evidence based care to our client group.

It is vital that the successful candidate is a team player as the work will entail working with the Dementia and Delirium Team Trust wide, although you will be primarily based at Newham University Hospital, as well as interacting with many other teams throughout your working day.



To support people living with dementia or experiencing delirium, through meaningful activity, stimulation and therapeutic engagement. The post holder will support the dementia and delirium team in the delivery of evidence based care to people living with dementia or experiencing delirium. They will be actively involved in the development and implementation of creative activities to meet the individual needs on a person-to-person basis. The post holder will also support the facilitation of group based activities on inpatient wards.
