Crynodeb

The post holder is responsible for ensuring the effective management of the department over the 24-hour period.
They will provide clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing team. They will supervise the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care ensuring that nursing and corporate standards are maintained and measured.
The post holder will be responsible for the deployment and supervision of staff where there is a requirement to meet the needs of the case load between both Endoscopy Departments. The post holder will provide senior nurse leadership and deputise in the absence of the Matron.

The post holder is responsible for the effective 24-hour management of the department, providing both clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing team.

They will ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care in line with Trust policies, national guidance, and professional standards, overseeing the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

The post holder will manage the deployment, supervision, and coordination of staff to meet service demands across both Endoscopy Departments, act as a senior clinical decision-maker, and provide guidance and support in complex situations.

They will monitor compliance with clinical governance, risk management, infection prevention, and health and safety requirements, support workforce management including rostering, appraisal, and professional development, and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and senior leadership and will deputise for the Matron as required, taking responsibility for operational decisions and overall service oversight in their absence.
