As an Accounts Assistant studying towards AAT, you will receive direct support from experienced team members, combining hands-on operational knowledge with the development of strong Excel, problem‑solving and modern systems skills. This is an excellent opportunity to build a finance career within our growing organisation.

What’s in it for you?

Study support (AAT or equivalent)
Access to our benefits platform including employee assistance programme and 24/7 GP
Discounts at restaurants, shops, gyms and holidays
Salary sacrifice schemes including childcare, electric car and cycle‑to‑work
Genuine development opportunities within a growing business
Exposure to operational finance within an active quarry environment
Supportive team focused on high standards and continuous improvement
What you’ll do

Support day‑to‑day accounting activities for quarry operations
Assist with Sales and Purchase Ledger tasks
Input, validate and reconcile operational and financial data
Use Excel to analyse data, identify anomalies and support reporting
Assist with cost tracking, stock movements and performance reporting
Support month‑end activities including reconciliations and reporting packs
Help improve data accuracy and consistency at source
Work collaboratively with operational and finance colleagues to resolve issues
What you’ll bring

Full UK driving licence
Studying towards AAT (or equivalent) — ideal but not essential
Previous experience in a similar role and an understanding of finance activities
Desirable: experience within a similar industry (aggregates, quarrying, waste, construction), but not essential
Strong IT skills, including confident Excel capability (Pivot tables, Lookups, General data management and analysis)
Accuracy, attention to detail and eagerness to learn
Strong communication skills and ability to work well with both finance and operational teams
