About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. This role plays a vital part in
managing resident and local authority accounts, ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and high-quality financial records.
In addition you will also assist with organisation wide IT, ensuring all equipment is up to date and compliant with company
policies
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the sales ledger and maintaining accurate customer accounts
- Producing invoices for residents and Local Authorities
- Chasing outstanding balances via phone, email, and written correspondence
- Processing direct debits and allocating incoming payments
- Reconciling customer accounts and resolving queries
- Producing aged debt reports and supporting month-end processes
- Supporting cash-flow forecasting and reporting
- Assisting with management accounts
-Analyse, interpret, raise and challenge areas of accounts when needed
- Providing cover across the wider finance team
- Assisting organisation wide IT and compliance.
About You
Essential:
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities
- Ability to analyse, interpret, raise and challenge areas of accounts
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Desirable:
- Experience using Sage accounting software
- Experience in credit control or accounts receivable
- Experience working to KPIs or collection targets
- AAT qualified or working towards
