Role Overview
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our growing care agency in Pontypool, South Wales. As a dedicated Support Worker, you will play a vital role in making a real difference in the lives of our clients, providing them with the care and support they need to maintain their independence and well-being. Our Support Workers are at the heart of our organisation, and we are looking for individuals who share our values of compassion, empathy, and respect.
Key Responsibilities
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and household tasks, using a person-centred approach to support their individual needs and promote their autonomy
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, helping to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation, and promoting their mental health and well-being
Support clients in community activities and appointments, promoting their social inclusion and participation, and enabling them to maintain their social connections
Safely assist clients with mobility using Moving & Handling techniques, ensuring their safety and dignity at all times, and providing support with physical disabilities
Help clients to maintain their independence and well-being, supporting them to achieve their goals and aspirations, and promoting their overall quality of life
Required Skills & Experience
At least 6 months UK-based experience in care and support work, preferably in a similar role or setting, such as a care home, hospice, or community care organisation
A caring, patient, and reliable attitude, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and support, and a passion for making a difference in people's lives
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and social services
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of our clients, and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
