Social support for Blind women in Melton Mowbray
Preferred days/times:
10 hours a week – flexibility required due to dialysis
Tasks/duties:
Supporting to access the community.
Accessing local groups, going shopping, for coffee and mixing with others in local community. Support finding new groups locally.
Who We’re Hoping to Find
We’d especially welcome someone who:
• Has a mature outlook and life experience
• Is patient, calm, and enjoys connecting with others
• Shares similar interests
• Is comfortable supporting a visually impaired person
Main diagnosis:
Registered Blind
Type 1 diabetes
Renal failure – has dialysis regularly
Moving and handling:
Will need to link arms with PA when walking outside.
What do you enjoy doing:
Independent lady who is determined to do as much as possible.
Enjoys socialising, chatting and being around people.
Has 2 friendly dogs
Driving license required:
YES. Will use PA’s car to get about and employer will pay the mileage.
An enhanced DBS certificate is applicable to this role.
If directly employed benefits include: 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (Pro rata) Pension, Tax and NI contributions.
