Hodge Clough Primary School - Moorside Oldham


Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Term Time Only

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 32.5 Hours per week 8.15 am to 3.15 pm requires some flexibility to meet the needs of the job

Salary: Grade 5 £31,536 (actual salary 23,912)

About the Role:

The Designated Safeguarding Lead will work alongside the Senior Leadership Team on all safeguarding and child protection matters across the school, including online safety.

You will play a key role in leading the day to day operational management of safeguarding and child protection issues and daily responses. This will include working in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team to develop systems, processes and practice of the highest standard to support measurable improvement and consistent practice.

You will advise and support all staff on matters related to child welfare, safeguarding, child protection, and consult with relevant agencies in line with the statutory duties of the DSL.

You will be the primary contact for managing attendance and undertaking attendance duties as outlined in the Job Description.


About You:

  • You will have experience of safeguarding in a school or other relevant organisation
  • Have a detailed knowledge of current child protection and safeguarding legislation including CSE and radicalisation.
  • You will have a proven track record of raising safeguarding standards and an awareness of local and national agencies that provide support for children and their families.
  • Attendance experience would be desirable.
