Registered Service Manager – Residential & Care at Home Services based in Fife.
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Units 15 & 16 John Smith Business Park, 1 Begg Road, Kirkcaldy, KY2 6HD
Salary: £44,101.00 per annum
At Capability Scotland, Fife Services we support adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and sensory impairment, to live independently within their own homes and small residential services in Dunfermline, Rosyth and Glenrothes. Delivering over 1700 hours of care services per week. Our days are filled with laughter, with a focus on activities, on-site and externally. Our mission is to deliver the highest quality services, tailored to the individual needs of disabled people.
About the role – Service Manager
As Service Manager you will have responsibility for managing the service so that the 20 individuals we support, throughout Fife, receive a quality, person-centred experience. You will lead our management team and support our employees, ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing budgets and facilities, and drive service development. Key tasks include:
Managing the referral process and ensuring service delivery meets protocols and customer needs.
Overseeing staff recruitment, training, performance, rotas, and disciplinary processes.
Budgetary and financial controls: reviewing accounts, authorising purchase orders, monitoring assets and expenditure.
Ensuring the facility, transport provisions and service environment support safe and effective delivery.
Ensuring statutory and regulatory requirements are met (e.g., adult/child protection, Care Inspectorate annual returns).
Promoting and developing the service, seeking new referrals, leading business development and risk assessments.
Conducting investigations into concerns or complaints, and liaising with relevant authorities when required.
On-call support – part of 6 person on call rota for 24 hour service.
What We’re Looking For
Qualification: SVQ 4 Health & Social Care (or equivalent) AND a relevant management qualification.
Proven leadership experience in a care environment, with strong understanding of service delivery, staff management, budgets and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent interpersonal skills: you’ll engage with customers, families, social work and local authorities.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and promote services, manage change and mitigate risk.
Comfortable working across a variety of tasks (from operational/administrative to strategic) and dealing with both routine and complex issues.
Location: Office address is - Units 4 & 16 John Smith Business Park, 1 Begg Road, Kirkcaldy, KY2 6HD - services are based in Dunfermline, Rosyth & Glenrothes.
Driving licence and vehicle preferred.
