We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Denbighshire to assist with the appointment of a Engagement Officer on 1-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £13.85 - £18.09 per hour
Summary:
As an Engagement Officer, you will serve as the public face of the Councils employability initiatives. Your primary mission is to reach out to "hard to reach" communities and individuals facing poverty or complex barriers to employment. By working closely with local community groups and attending county-wide events, you will raise awareness of available support, build trust with residents, and facilitate their enrollment into employability projects. Your goal is to empower citizens to improve their skills, confidence, and long-term prospects.
Responsibilities:
Attend locations and events across the County to provide expert advice and information regarding relevant support services.
Actively engage with residents in diverse community settings to build self-esteem and encourage participation in Working Denbighshire projects.
Maintain meticulous records in line with monitoring frameworks (UK/Welsh Government and DCC) while ensuring strict adherence to Data Protection and confidentiality protocols.
Identify operational risks, conduct risk assessments for community activities, and adhere to "Safe Systems of Work," including lone working and safeguarding procedures.
Qualifications:
GCSEs (Grade C or above) or equivalent.
Essentials:
Substantial experience in community work within the public, voluntary, or community sector.
Proven experience working in social care, educational, or employment advice settings.
Experience in administrative duties, including maintaining electronic records and monitoring project outcomes.
Deep understanding of how unemployment and social disadvantage impact lives.
Must be a car driver/owner with the ability to travel across Denbighshire and North Wales, occasionally carrying equipment/publicity materials.
Commitment to the Councils safeguarding policies for children and vulnerable adults.
