Ward Manager for Ward 6

Band 7

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Ward Manager to join our Ward 6 at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. The successful candidate should be motivated and have the ability to inspire the staff and have previous experience and evidence implementing changes and embedding good practice.

It is essential that you can work as part of a multidisciplinary team demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to support the development of the service. The successful applicant needs to have excellent organisational and time management skills. You will need to be a good communicator, be self-motivated, provide high standards of clinical skills and have the ability to influence and drive innovative practice within a fast growing and exciting department.

For an informal discussion please contact Matron Emma Livesey.

Are you passionate in providing high standards of care? Would you like to make a real difference? If so then come and join Ward 6. We fully support a multi-disciplinary team approach and work together to ensure our patients will receive the highest standards of care and treatment.

Your role is pivotal in leading the team ensuring these high standards are met and both supporting and developing our team members.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients.

As one of the United Kingdom’s largest coastal resort, Blackpool has plenty to offer its residents – it’s not just a good place to work; it’s a great place to live. In addition to its bustling centre and historic seafront, the town is world famous for its many attractions, including the famous Blackpool Tower. Blackpool also offers a number of scenic cycling routes round our local parks and across the surrounding countryside, as well as boasting panoramic views of the coast on its picturesque Promenade. Further afield, Blackpool also benefits from less than three-hour connections via rail to Edinburgh in the north and London in the south.

To provide clinical and managerial leadership to the ward team, ensuring that action is taken at all levels to empower the team in providing demonstrably high standards of care in a clean and safe environment. The post holder will be ‘visible’ and recognisable to patients, relatives and staff and act as a ‘champion’ for quality and equality of standards and patient care within the Trust
