We want to make sure we have the right people in place to support our growth and we are now looking for a bright and enthusiastic Line Leader to join our Production team based at Thanet Earth in Birchington, Kent.
Due to our remote location and limited public transportation options, candidates must have their own means of transport for daily commuting.
Your main responsibilities will be to manage and control the activities of a production line team to achieve customer product specified quality standards in the safest, most efficient and effective way.
Other responsibilities include:
Ensuring conformance to Health & Safety measures at all time.
Managing the line team effectively to achieve line KPIs ensuring product integrity, conformance to customer specifications, technical standards and business procedures.
Always ensures best quality product is packed guaranteeing customer specifications are met.
Working closely with the QA and compliance teams ensuring standards are managed within customer and business specifications.
Actively participate as a member of the Production Team providing input to ongoing business continuous improvements.
Key skills & knowledge:
Prior experience of managing and training a multi-skilled team on manual processes, preferably gained within the fresh produce or more general chilled food industry.
Experience of flow wrapper/top sealer machines.
Exposure to the management of fluctuating customer demands and balancing resources effectively whilst maintaining conformance to specifications.
A good understanding of both written and spoken English to enable effective communication.

“At the start of the shift, you will be issued with the plan for your line. You need to be diligent and accurate as you prepare the line. This involves completing Health & Safety and compliance paperwork, ordering fruits and packing materials, and ensuring that all machines and the checkweigher are functioning correctly. The main objective is to pack high-quality fruits safely and efficiently, meeting our targets and ensuring customer satisfaction with every product. However, their responsibilities go beyond just running the line. You need to understand the specifications and know what the customers expect. You will ensure that everything is done correctly and that your team always performs at their best.”

Working hours:
You will work 40 hours a week over 5 days. This may include weekend work. The days will be set, they are not on a rolling rota.
