Deep Clean Operative (Temp to Perm)

We're looking for a reliable Deep Clean Operative to join our team on a temp-to-perm basis.
the candidate needs to be based out of Colchester, Chelmsford, or Ipswich, covering stations across the East and South network.

Main Responsibilities

You'll carry out deep cleaning and periodic cleaning duties across station environments, with a strong focus on washroom deep cleans.

Tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Washroom deep cleans (toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, consumables)

  • Pressure washing, steam cleaning, and reach & wash

  • Glazing and high-level cleaning

  • Floor scrubbing, carpet & upholstery cleaning

  • Graffiti, gum, waste removal

  • Station deep cleans, lift & shift / clean sweeps

  • Bike shelter maintenance and light maintenance

  • Working during possessions and isolations (rail safety critical)

Areas Covered

Platforms, bridges, stairs, subways, entrances, concourses, car parks, cycle sheds, lifts, ticket offices, waiting rooms, WC washrooms, kitchens, mess rooms, and offices.

All areas must be left free from dirt, dust, debris, graffiti, algae, guano, scale build-up, and similar contaminants, in line with WPPs.

Equipment Used

Scrubber dryers, pressure washers, steam cleaners, reach & wash systems, wet & dry vacs, carpet cleaners, gum removal machines, and general power tools.

Housekeeping & IT
  • Maintain equipment, vans, and cupboards

  • Complete pre-use checks and report faults

  • Use handheld devices and apps (Work-IT)

  • Take clear before & after photos

Skills & Requirements
  • Full UK Driving Licence - essential

  • PTS, IPAF, PASMA - desirable but not essential
