We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Mental Health Professional. You will have a strong sense of initiative and an excellent team working ability.

Effective communication skills and self-governance are required. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of high-level interventions & community nursing skills. Additional qualifications in therapeutic interventions, or a willingness to undertake additional training, is expected.

Mental Health Services nationally have undergone a significant transformation under the Community Mental Health Framework.

The Maidstone Community Mental Health Team is part of West Kent Community Services. We are a diverse multi-cultural team that is looking to recruit a band 6 Nurse to work within the team, providing specialist mental health care for people with multiple and complex needs that require intensive support.
• Carry out and coordinate comprehensive, systematic nursing assessments which take account of relevant mental, physical, social, cultural, psychological, spiritual, and environmental factors, in partnership with the service user and others through interaction, observation and measurement.
• You will also be required to write tribunal reports, attend CPA meetings, and Tribunal meetings.
• Work collaboratively with other disciplines, service user and their carers to agree a holistic person centred care plan that addresses the needs identified through assessment.
• Deliver and evaluate safe, person-centred care in partnership with the service user and their carers to support recovery.
• Act as a clinical leader supporting best practice in line with NICE guidance.
• Facilitate and review approved Quality Improvement initiatives within the care setting.

• You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of community health care for service users. You are expected to be a good team worker and have the ability to supervise, teach and develop the skills of the junior members of the team, as well as acting as a positive role model for all staff and be able to lead in areas of clinical practice and development.
• Extensive knowledge of working with clients with complex emotional difficulties is essential to the role
• Our service focuses on promoting recovery for those people diagnosed with severe and enduring mental ill health. We provide comprehensive multi-disciplinary services and work closely with local specialist mental health teams, tertiary service providers, primary care, local statutory and non-statutory agencies, service users and carers.
