Job Description
We are seeking three experienced Site Engineers (Civil) to join our construction projects across the London area. The successful candidates will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring that construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and health and safety requirements.
This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, site management skills, and effective communication to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate daily construction site activities in line with project plans and programmes
Ensure works are carried out in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
Manage and supervise site operatives, subcontractors, and suppliers
Monitor progress against programme and report updates to the Project Manager
Ensure high standards of workmanship, quality control, and site safety at all times
Identify, resolve, and escalate technical and site-related issues promptly
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Assist with setting out, surveying, and technical problem-solving on site
Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress logs, and quality documentation
Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, and engineers as required
Support efficient use of materials, labour, and plant to avoid delays and wastage
Promote positive working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
Person Specification
Essential Requirements:
Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline
Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on civil or construction projects
Strong understanding of construction methods, drawings, and specifications
Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and site procedures
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Competent in maintaining site documentation and reports
Willingness to work across various sites within the London area
Desirable:
CSCS card
Experience with setting-out equipment and surveying tools
SMSTS or SSSTS certification
Previous experience working on UK construction sites
