Kitchen Stores Assistant - Band 2
Permanent role - 37.5 hours per week

Kitchen Stores Assistant often is the backbone of a professional kitchen, responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organising stock, and assisting to ensure smooth operations, within the kitchen, and assisting hospitality.

Assisting the Kitchen Stores Supervisor with ordering, receiving,
checking, receipting, storing, decanting and issuing all food and non-food items, ensuring that whilst in storage all food commodities are maintained in accordance with departmental policy/procedure and current food hygiene legislation.
Receipting of Provisions, Issue of Provisions, Storage, Stock Control.

This is due to the position not meeting the minimum salary threshold of £25,000 per annum and/or the required skill level set by UK Visas and Immigration.

• Stock Management & Organization: Unloading food deliveries and organizing stockrooms, walk-in fridges, and freezers to ensure items are stored correctly and securely.
• Inventory Control & Rotation: Checking sell-by/use-by dates, implementing First-In-First-Out (FIFO) practices, and identifying low stock items to notify chefs or managers.
• Supplier Delivery Handling: Receiving, checking, and signing for goods from suppliers against purchase orders to ensure accuracy in quantity and quality.
• Storage Area Hygiene: Cleaning and tidying storerooms, shelves, and containers to meet food safety and health regulations.
• Stock Distribution: Bringing ingredients from the storeroom to the main kitchen or specific workstations as needed by the chefs.
• Waste Management: Disposing of packaging materials (cardboard, plastic) and ensuring food waste is managed in accordance with recycling protocols.
