About the Role
Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a well-established specialist school near Newark. The school supports pupils aged 5-16 with autism and associated special educational needs.
With small class sizes and a strong focus on wellbeing, the school places high importance on consistency, positive relationships and personalised support. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in helping pupils build confidence, independence and essential life skills.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support throughout the school day
- Support pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive routines
- Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
- Monitor and record progress, behaviour and wellbeing
- Communicate effectively with teaching staff and families
- Accompany pupils on community activities and off-site learning
About You
- Previous Teaching Assistant experience is essential
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN is essential
- Calm, patient and flexible approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
