Job Title: Nursery Assistant – Flexible Hours
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Hours: Flexible shifts available between 8:00am – 6:00pm (Full-time & Part-time considered)
We are currently recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming early years setting in Chelmsford. This role offers flexible working hours, with shifts available between 8:00am and 6:00pm, making it ideal for candidates seeking work that fits around other commitments.
This opportunity is suitable for both experienced and qualified early years staff, as well as Nursery Assistants looking to progress their career within childcare.
Qualifications & RequirementsThis Nursery Assistant role is open to a wide range of candidates, including those who hold:

Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualifications (desirable but not essential)

CACHE, NVQ, or Early Years Educator (EYE) qualifications (welcomed)
You should also have:

Experience working with children in an early years or childcare setting

A basic understanding of the EYFS framework

Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection

A positive, caring, and reliable approach
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Nursery Assistant, your role will include:

Supporting the care and supervision of children aged 0–5

Assisting with daily activities and learning through play

Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment

Working closely with Nursery Practitioners and room leaders

Supporting children with personal care routines
-
Following all safeguarding, health, and safety procedures
