Mounts Bay Academy is a caring and dynamic Academy where students are placed at the centre of everything we do. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum to all our students, who are set challenging academic and personal targets and given the inspiration to succeed.

Joining the music department at Mounts Bay Academy offers a vibrant opportunity to shape a curriculum where musical thinking, singing, and playing are woven into the very fabric of daily school life. We are currently seeing a surge in talent, with a significant number of students opting for Music and Music Technology at Key Stage 4. Our mission is to build on this momentum, ensuring that every student—regardless of their starting point—benefits from a high-quality learning experience that fosters a genuine, lifelong love of the arts.

As a dedicated Music Teacher, you will be instrumental in delivering lessons that align with our Mounts Bay Academy teaching and learning guidelines, creating a classroom environment where creativity thrives and every student feels empowered to compose, perform, and explore.

At the heart of our Academy is a deep-rooted commitment to an inclusive and integrated support system, particularly for our students with special educational needs or those supported by Pupil Premium. Your role will be pivotal in narrowing achievement gaps and raising outcomes year-on-year by providing tailored, equitable access to musical excellence. Beyond the classroom, you will curate a rich tapestry of cultural events and experiences designed to enhance our students' cultural capital, ensuring they are exposed to the breadth and depth of the musical world. By creating consistent opportunities for students to sing, play, and compose both within the curriculum and through extra-curricular initiatives, you will help ensure that music remains a transformative force for every learner at Mounts Bay.
