What skills and experience we're looking for
Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, together with Mounts Bay Academy, are seeking to appoint an Examination Invigilator to join their team. This is a casual role with variable hours throughout the academic year.
As an examination invigilator, you will play a vital role in upholding the integrity and smooth operation of our assessment process. You will be responsible for the meticulous physical preparation of examination venues—from organising seating plans and stationery to the secure handling of sensitive papers. During the exam, you will serve as a focused and supportive presence, guiding students to their seats, enforcing strict silence, and managing any queries or irregularities with professional composure.
Beyond mere observation, this role requires a high level of logistical coordination, including recording attendance, escorting students when necessary, and ensuring the orderly collection and delivery of scripts to departmental offices. We are looking for dependable individuals who can follow complex procedures with precision while maintaining a calm, authoritative, and fair environment for all students.
About You:
The post would suit a calm and compassionate individual, but we would also welcome applications from someone willing to learn and develop in the role.
The successful candidate will be flexible, organised and able to work on their own initiative. Attention to detail and accurate record keeping are essential along with competent IT skills. Applications must be able to work in a team environment.
This is a term time only position so the successful post holder will benefit from the school holidays.
Mounts Bay Academy is a caring and dynamic Academy where students are placed at the centre of everything we do. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum to all our students, who are set challenging academic and personal targets and given the inspiration to succeed.
