Key Responsibilities Help to lead and support a team of nurses and healthcare assistants, fostering a positive, collaborative, and patient centred culture. Work closely with the nonclinical coordination hub to ensure that patient priority status reflects individual care needs and the safe, effective provision of services. Ensure compliance with Marie Curie policies, procedures, safeguarding requirements, and clinical standards. Oversee caseload management across the Midlands Community Services, supporting efficient service delivery and proactive planning based on patient acuity and available resources. Support and, where required, lead investigations into incidents, complaints, and concerns, ensuring that learning is captured, shared, and translated into practice. Drive quality improvement initiatives, participating in audits, service reviews, and research activity to enhance patient care and professional practice. Deputise for the Clinical Nurse Managers (CNMs)as required, supporting the operational leadership of the service. Collaborate with the Senior Healthcare Assistant to plan and deliver education, skills development, and key training programmes across the locality/Place. Promote and champion patient centred care, ensuring that the needs, wishes, and preferences of individuals and families are heard and acted upon. Maintain effective communication with patients, families, colleagues, external partners, and the wider community by supporting the coordination hub with collection of experience of care. Actively participate in Governance, Quality Assurance - reflecting on practice, contributing to continuous improvement, and supporting safe, effective care delivery. Job Status:Permanent; 37.5 hours per week Working Hours:9:00 am 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Additional responsibilities may include conducting observations in practice during non-standard hours as necessary. Salary:Marie Curie Pay Scale Band 6 (aligned with AFC), £38,682 £46,580 per annum, plus applicable enhancements. Location:Community-based position in the Midlands. What we are looking for: Registered Nurse on NMC Register with a relevant qualification and experience. Experience in caring for patients with palliative care needs. Strong time management skills and committed to providing high-quality care. Experience in observation and assessment of clinical practice, to determine standards of care An understanding of specific needs of patients approaching end of life and in the terminal phase. Excellent communication and organisational skills. IT proficiency Ability to travel as required Excellent communication and team-working skills. A valid driving license and access to a car for travel to peoples homes.
