Summary
The Deputy Nursery Manager plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the setting, working closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure high-quality care, education, and safeguarding for all children. You will help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
This role involves supporting and leading the nursery team, acting as a positive role model and providing guidance, coaching, and supervision where needed. You will assist with staff rotas, support performance management, and step in to lead the setting in the Manager’s absence. Building strong relationships with parents and carers, and maintaining clear communication, will be a key part of your role.
The Deputy Nursery Manager is also responsible for supporting compliance with all regulatory and health and safety requirements, including Ofsted standards. You will help monitor practice, maintain accurate records, and contribute to continuous improvement, ensuring the nursery consistently delivers high-quality childcare and education.
