Crynodeb
The post-holder will typically spend approximately two days per week undertaking sub-specialty-directed clinical practice within their chosen fellowship area. Depending on experience and competence, this work will be carried out under direct or indirect supervision from an appointed Fellowship Lead and relevant Clinical Service Leads. In addition to specialist clinical activity, the role includes active involvement in research, audit, quality improvement, education, and management projects, many of which extend beyond the theatre environment. Fellows are encouraged to contribute to departmental innovation, present work at local and national meetings, and support the training of junior doctors and multidisciplinary colleagues. Appointments are offered on a fixed-term basis, commencing from August 2026, initially for six months, with the potential to extend up to 12 months by mutual agreement. Posts are based within the Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust footprint, with opportunities to work across sites in line with service needs and educational objectives. This fellowship provides a structured, well-supported platform for developing advanced sub-specialty competence while functioning as a senior clinician within a high-performing, forward-thinking anaesthetic department.
