This role is offered on a two-year fixed term basis. It will be based in the Sydney Jones Library, hybrid working arrangements also available
The opportunity
You will play a vital role in the day-to-day operational effectiveness of the Libraries, Museums and Galleries (LMG) department, acting as a frontline contact for the department. You will provide support to colleagues, students and external stakeholders, and ensuring provision of financial and administrative services.
About you
We are seeking a Library Support Assistant, with an enthusiastic approach to work who is supportive and open to working with others to join a busy team overseeing the day-to-day operations of Libraries, Museums and Galleries. As a member of the LMG Planning and Resources team, you will engage in operational support to five other teams within the department (Customer Experience, Heritage, Learning Development and Academic Liaison, and Research, Content and Discovery), providing customer service, collating records and producing reports.
You will have
• Experience using initiative to identify problems and propose solutions, utilising dedicated IT systems
• Outstanding organisational and prioritising skills
• The ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Three GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) including English and maths, and/or evidence of continually developing personal and professional skills and knowledge
Interviews are anticipated to take place in February 2026, subject to change.
