SEN Teaching Assistant - Temp to Perm
Location: Bury St Edmunds
Employer: Inspire EHC
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm (Term time only)
Pay: £14.01-£15.40 per hour (depending on experience)
Inspire EHC is looking for a caring and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with a range of physical, medical and complex needs in a welcoming SEND setting in Bury St Edmunds.
This role blends classroom support with elements of school care work, making it ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference to pupils' wellbeing, independence and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and mobility support
- Assist with feeding, hygiene and medical routines
- Support pupils to access learning and classroom activities
- Encourage communication, independence and emotional regulation
- Use supportive strategies to help pupils engage and stay safe
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and families
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND or complex needs
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism, safeguarding and confidentiality
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Health and Social Care Level 2/3 or TA qualifications) are helpful but not essential
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
