This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative new model of care (NMOC), and to use all of your clinical and interpersonal abilities, develop new skills, and work with men who need and deserve high quality care.
Feltham B is now aCategory C male adult prisonand is currently aligning its services to theNew Model of Care (NMOC). The NMOC is designed topromote patient safety and wellbeing from the point of reception into custody through to release, ensuringcontinuity of care, appropriaterisk management, and seamlesshandover into the community or onward transfer to another establishment.
The NMOC is structured aroundfour core teams (pillars):
1. Early Days in Custody (EDIC)– focusing on immediate health, mental health, and substance misuse needs at reception and during the early period in custody.
2. Planned Care (PlC)– delivering ongoing, structured care for patients with identified health, mental health, and substance misuse needs.
3. Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC)– providing timely assessment and response to acute and urgent presentations.
4. Release and Transfer (RT)– ensuring safe, coordinated transition of care on release or transfer, with robust communication to community and receiving services.
This model supports awhole-pathway, patient-centred approach, underpinned by multidisciplinary working, clear governance, and shared accountability.

The post holder will ideally have previous experience in relevant forensic mental health services. Experience working with service-users with additional neuro-developmental needs, such as Learning Disabilities (LD), ADHD, social communication and Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) would be beneficial to this role due to the diverse needs of the population.
In addition to contributing to the Occupational Therapy programme and assisting with the development of group provision within the wider prison, you will be expected to supervise students. You will also provide specialist OT assessments and interventions at the same time as offering advice and consultation within an MDT approach.
