Neway International are seeking a Social Worker – Social Care Qualified to join our client Nottinghamshire County Council within the Children and Families Team
Location: Meadow House, Littleworth, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, NG18 2TB
Hours: 37 per week

About the Client
Nottinghamshire County Council’s Children and Families directorate provides vital support to children, young people, and families across the county. The Help, Protection and Care service focuses on safeguarding, early intervention, and long‑term planning to ensure children are safe, supported, and able to thrive. The Mansfield Family Support and Safeguarding Team works with children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans, delivering high‑quality, relationship‑based social work.
The Role
The Social Worker will undertake assessments, planning, and direct work with children, young people, and families, ensuring practice aligns with the Nottinghamshire practice framework. The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent written work, and the ability to work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners. You will be expected to maintain accurate records, contribute to team development, and participate in supervision and training.
This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of being office‑based 2–3 days per week and on duty days. General working hours are Monday–Thursday 08:30–17:00 and Friday 08:30–16:30. A clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential and non‑negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake inclusive assessments of strengths, vulnerabilities, developmental needs, and risk in line with the Nottinghamshire practice framework.
Ensure compliance with legislation, departmental policies, and procedures.
Maintain timely, accurate, and clear written records, reports, and documentation within the electronic recording system.
Work effectively with children, families, and multi‑agency partners to plan, coordinate, and review outcome‑focused plans.
Model a strengths‑based approach to practice.
Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and service reviews.
Engage in regular supervision and contribute to practice development.
Undertake relevant training and maintain continuous professional development in line with Social Work England requirements.
Work flexibly, including out‑of‑hours when required.
Promote equal opportunities, safe practice, and high‑quality service delivery.
Ensure compliance with GDPR, FOI, and ICT codes of practice.
Carry out any additional duties appropriate to the grade of the post.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
Experience working with children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans.
Strong assessment, planning, and report‑writing skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with families and multi‑agency partners.
Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory responsibilities.
Ability to maintain accurate electronic records and manage workload effectively.
Commitment to continuous professional development.
Clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential).
Ability to work flexibly and attend the office 2–3 days per week.
