Elwood Recruitment are working in partnership with an emerging children’s residential care provider to recruit an experienced Registered Manager for a newly established children’s home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

This is a rare opportunity to be the first Registered Manager of a service, giving the successful candidate real autonomy to shape the culture, standards, and operational approach from day one, ahead of its first Ofsted inspection which is a very exciting aspect of this role.

The Role
As Registered Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and regulatory compliance of the home, ensuring high-quality, child-centred care and positive outcomes for young people.

Key responsibilities include:

• Registering the service with Ofsted and preparing for inspection
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and quality standards
• Recruiting, leading, developing and retaining a motivated staff team
• Implementing robust safer recruitment, induction and supervision processes
• Developing and overseeing care plans, staff rotas and budgets
• Working closely with social workers, local authorities, families and external professionals
• Creating a positive, stable and nurturing environment for children and young people

About You
You will be a confident, values-led leader with a genuine passion for children’s residential care.

Essential requirements:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Manager in a children’s residential setting
• Experience working with children with EBD
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and quality frameworks
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams
Desirable:
• Experience managing a service through Ofsted inspections
• Commercial awareness and confidence contributing to service development
• Ability to commute within a reasonable distance of the home
