Role Overview
We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Transport Manager to lead and optimise APP Glasgow transport operations, ensuring
safe, efficient, and cost‑effective delivery performance. You will oversee our driver compliance, route planning, and transport
safety standards, while driving continuous improvement to support APP Wholesale's ambition for operational excellence and
sustainable growth.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Organise and maximise the efficiency of the delivery vehicle fleet
* Ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest standard through daily checks, routine servicing and repair
* Communicate with drivers to make sure they are up to date with all required reporting
* Adherence to rules on drivers' hours and tachographs are observed, and proper records are kept to comply with Operator Licence
requirements
* Drivers CPC up to date
* Reporting of accidents and any serious contraventions
* Driver adherence to safe driving guidelines through driver accompaniment and analysis of vehicle data
* Develop all required risk assessments and delivery related Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
* Participate in leadership, online teams and in-person meetings
* Prompt completion by self and team of compliance and training modules
* Working closely with the wider branch team
Generic responsibilities:
* Promote and uphold the highest standards of Health & Safety, including active participation in “Near Miss” reporting to help
maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your colleagues, and our customers.
* Always maintain strong security awareness, ensuring company assets and customer goods are protected.
* Present yourself in a clean, tidy, and professional manner, always wearing the correct company uniform.
* Follow the correct procedures for reporting sickness or absence in a timely and responsible manner.
* Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is always worn, in line with company policy and safety regulations.
* Be flexible and willing to support other areas of APP Wholesale when required, including temporary assignments in different
departments or branches.
* Carry out any additional duties that are reasonable and within the scope of the role, contributing to the overall success of
the team.

* Solid understanding of transport legislation, vehicle maintenance, and driver compliance.
