Crynodeb
The Clinical specialist role will be providing patient-centred quality care through practising at a high level of professional and personal autonomy.
The post holder will use specialist knowledge and skills of clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice within the cardiology service.
The post holder will be expected to be the Advanced Diagnostic and Decision maker of cardiology service in conjunction with non-medical Consultant or Medical Colleagues as appropriate
The post holder will facilitate evidence-based practice, and promote and undertake research, service improvement collaboratives and clinical audit within their pathway and across the Trust. They will also design and provide clinical/practical and theory-based education and training to other staff groups, including (not limited to) nurses and Allied Health Professionals, pharmacists both internally across the trust's divisions but also externally if required.
The post holder will work innovatively and flexibility to adapt to a fast-changing specialty and play an integral role in the operational/strategic development of the cardiology service.
The post holder will deliver a minimum of 50% and maximum 80% clinical component to their role, the rest of the percentage should be spread evenly across the other 3 pillars within their service, pathway and trust as required.
