Skylight Psychiatry is a forward thinking, dynamic mental health service. We are a CQC registered service delivering person-centred assessment, care and support, with our ultimate aim being to improve the lives of people with neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD, Autism and Learning disabilities.

Role Purpose
To support the delivery of high-quality combined Autism and ADHD assessments within the Skylight Psychiatry neurodevelopmental pathway.

The Neurodevelopmental Assistant plays a key role in delivering ADHD diagnostic interviews (DIVA 5.0) and in providing dedicated support to a named Autism MDT, contributing to MDT preparation, participation, and the consolidation of assessment outcomes and reports. The role also contributes to post-diagnostic support and wider service activity where capacity allows.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment & MDT Support
• Conduct virtual DIVA 5.0 ADHD diagnostic interviews as part of the combined Autism and ADHD assessment pathway.
• Prepare assessment cases for MDT discussion, ensuring information is complete, accurate, and appropriately documented.
• Provide consistent support to a named Autism MDT, including participation in MDT meetings and contribution to clinical discussions.
• Support the consolidation and finalisation of assessment outcomes and reports in line with agreed MDT processes.

Post-Diagnostic & Pathway Support
• Deliver post-diagnostic support sessions and group interventions, where required.
• Support effective patient flow through the neurodevelopmental pathway, working closely with clinicians, administrators, and management.

Documentation & Governance
• Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation in line with organisational, clinical, and information governance requirements.
• Adhere at all times to safeguarding, confidentiality, and clinical governance policies.

Service Contribution & Development
• Engage in supervision, reflective practice, and ongoing learning and development.
• Participate in audit, quality improvement, and service development activities where appropriate.
• Demonstrate willingness to contribute to the training and support of new team members as the service develops, under guidance from senior staff.
• Provide flexible support to wider service activities aligned to the neurodevelopmental pathway, where appropriate to skills, training, and service need.
• Demonstrate openness to changes in role focus or responsibilities within the scope of the Neurodevelopmental Assistant role, in response to service need and pathway development.

Working Pattern & Capacity
• Each NDA is expected to provide dedicated support to an Autism MDT, typically requiring two days per week focused on MDT preparation, participation, and outcome/report consolidation.
• Where the role is undertaken on a job-share basis, combined responsibility will equate to full-time coverage, including support to two Autism MDTs and delivery of four DIVA (ADHD) assessments per week.
• Remaining time may include DIVA assessments, post-diagnostic support, audit, learning, or other service priorities, depending on contracted hours and service need.
• The role may be undertaken on a full-time, part-time, or job-share basis, subject to service requirements.
