To provide high quality, effective, individualised pain management advice to all patients that is compassionate and caring To independently assess patients care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate them with supervision if required To assist in the development and continuation of training/education programmes To assist in the development and continuation of audit and research projects To deputise for the Senior Specialist Nurse (SSN) when required, for example due to staff shortages or as part of their continued professional development.
