About the Role
Long Term Futures is working in partnership with a specialist post-16 education provider in the CV4 area of Coventry, supporting young people aged 16-25 with a range of additional needs including Autism, physical disabilities and complex learning difficulties.
This setting is designed to help students prepare for adulthood, focusing on independence, communication, employability skills and personal development, alongside academic learning. Learners are supported in a calm, inclusive environment with high staffing levels and access to specialist support.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students build confidence, independence and the skills they need for life beyond education.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to learners with complex needs
- Supporting students to develop independence, confidence and self-advocacy
- Assisting with personalised learning activities and practical sessions
- Supporting communication, emotional regulation and social development
- Encouraging engagement in college life, routines and life-skills learning
- Working closely with tutors, therapists and support teams
Who We're Looking For
We welcome applicants who have experience or a strong interest in supporting young people with additional needs. This could include backgrounds in education, SEN support, care, support work or similar settings.
You'll be patient, proactive and committed to helping young people develop the skills they need for adulthood.
